Sparklers, Catherine wheels and Roman candles lit up the sky over a Derbyshire village on bonfire night when the annual Buxton firework display returned to Buxton Cricket Ground.
Hundreds of families turned out for the traditional bonfire night extravaganza, with Tarmac’s Tunstead Quarry donating towards the running costs of the event.
Jane FIetcher, event organiser, said: “The night went really well. The weather dried up for the event which attracted lots of people to come last minute and pay on the gate. There was a great crowd there and a really good atmosphere. The fireworks were fantastic.”
Peter Butterworth, lime director at Tarmac’s Tunstead site, said: “We try to help the community where we can and are delighted to have been able to contribute to Buxton’s annual fireworks display.
“It was great to see the community turn out to enjoy a spectacularly bright display.”
