Tarmac’s Tunstead Quarry recently presented a cheque to Blythe House Hospice Care following a series of fundraising activities that have taken place over the last three years, along with sponsoring its annual ‘Light up a Life’ campaign.
Representatives from the quarry presented a cheque for £3,612 to the charity.
Blythe House Hospice care, in partnership with Helen’s Trust, offers a wide range of free services to care for, and support, anyone in the High Peak, Hope Valley, Derbyshire Dales and North East Derbyshire who is affected by life-limiting illness.
The charity, based in Chapel-en-le-Frith in Derbyshire, must raise over £4,600 a day to provide these services, which include hospice at home, day care, support groups, outpatient clinics, and many more.
Louise Coppack, Corporate Fundraiser at Blythe House, said: “We are so grateful to Tarmac for their on-going support. The money they have raised on this occasion will provide 24 patients with a full night of Hospice at Home care, allowing them to remain at home with their loved ones at the end of their life. This will make such an enormous difference to so many local families.”
