Tarmac, the UK’s leading sustainable building materials and construction solutions business, has set up a new partnership that will provide organic, plastic-free period care products to employees across its business free of charge.

Employees from Tarmac’s Tunstead Cement Plant, in Buxton, came together for a day of activities to mark World Environment Day.

Runners in Buxton, Derbyshire, recently laced up their running shoes to take part in the Buxton Half Marathon, which was supported by Tarmac’s Tunstead Quarry.

Members of Buxton Park Bowling Club are enjoying new facilities, thanks to a £10,746 grant from the Tarmac Landfill Communities Fund.

Yesterday [Thursday 11 May] HS2 announced that 10 million tonnes of material have been delivered to – and removed from – construction sites by rail, a major milestone in HS2’s plan to cut carbon emissions by removing lorries from roads.

Employees from Tarmac’s Tunstead site recently supported a science fair attended by local school children.

Bill Esterson MP, shadow industry minister, has visited Tarmac’s flagship Tunstead site near Buxton, Derbyshire, to tour the combined quarrying, cement and lime manufacturing operation, one of the largest in the UK. Mr Esterson was accompanied by Jon Pearce, the Labour Party Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for High Peak.

Tideswell United Football Club’s under 12s team are leagues above the rest in new kit, thanks to a £512.82 donation from Tarmac’s Tunstead Quarry.

Thanks to a donation of £13,703 from the Tarmac Landfill Communities Fund, Dove Holes Cricket Club, near Buxton, has been able to upgrade old fencing and more.
